Dive and Charter Operators Wanted

Spinnaker Sound Marina is about to embark on a renovation program for our retail space. We are interested in appointing a dive school/tour operator and a charter boat operator to the marina. Spinnaker Sound Marina is only a short cruise to the "Wrecks" at Moreton Island and some of the best fishing grounds off the Queensland cost are less than an hours cruise from the harbour. Many Marinas Face Steep Increases In Sea Bed Lease Rates But Not Spinnaker Sound!

Several marinas in South East Queensland that were previously managed by the Port of Brisbane Authority have now come under the management of the Queensland Department of Transport.

The change in management has resulted in this group of marinas now being faced with significant (in some cases several hundred percent) increases in the sea bed lease payable to the new state government management body.

The result will most likely see boat owners based at these marinas facing hefty increases in both wet berth and dry storage fees over the coming twelve months.

Spinnaker Sound Marina operates under the management of the Department of Natural Resources, and whilst we too have had an increase in our sea bed lease rates in the order of 25%, it is nothing like the increases facing several other marinas in this part of Queensland.

Spinnaker Sound Marina has not increased it's fees for this current financial year!

We are pleased to announce that we have a number of berths available in 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14 and 15 metres in the wet berth, and from 5 metres to 7.4 metres in the covered dry stack, with some 7 to 8.5 metre hardstand spots for taller boats still available. We expect these vacancies to fill quickly as boat owners elsewhere become aware of the increases soon to be passed on to them.

If you sign up for a berth up until March 31st 2011 for twelve months, and take up occupancy by June 30th 2011 we will provide you with the annual discounted rate for your size vessel and allow you to pay this rate quarterly in advance. Normally you would have to pay the full annual fee up front to enjoy this discount. This offer is subject to all other normal terms and conditions for our annual rates.

Wet and Dry Berths Available

Spinnaker Sound Marina has recently completed a refurbishment of the marina wet berths. We now have available a number of 11 to 15 metre berths for annual, quarterly or monthly rental. In the past we have constantly been unable to accommodate many potential clients due to a shortage of berths in this size range.

We don't expect the berths currently available to remain so for very long. If you are interested in relocating your boat or are considering to purchase a boat in this size range then make contact now to secure a berth while you can.

We also have a limited number of dry stack positions available for boats between 4 metres and 7.3 metres.
